A Month like no other
A month ago while I was scrolling my Facebook account, I saw a Blog Writing Training advert on the Somali public agenda for learning and development (SPACLD) Facebook page. I immediately applied and recommended two of my classmates to apply this rare training in our country. After filling out the application and going through a rigorous selection process I was fortunate to be among the beneficiaries of the training. Conversely, together with a group of talented youth, full of passion and determination to skill up, we commenced the training.
The training lasted four weeks and we have taken four modules dealing with different topics of blogging skills. Each week we were attending the class on Saturday and Thursday. Saturday was a lesson day followed by assignments. Likewise, Thursday was a reflection day where our instructors invited some renowned bloggers to share with us insights and experiences e of blogging.
During the training, I faced a few circumstances because the training coincided with the time of my graduation and I was busy defending my thesis book and sitting for my final examination but that did not stop me from attending the training. Moreover, I faced challenges from the assigned assignments because some of the topics were tough for me.
Prior to the beginning of the training my expectations were to develop my writing skills vastly and I am enjoying my efforts now. Many thanks to the SPACLD. On the other hand, I also got connected with like minded people in the training who are very determined to succeed.
Finally, I am grateful to the SPACLD team for giving their utmost efforts freely to enhance our writing skills. Though I have concluded this eye-opening blogging training today, from now on as my mentors urged me already, I am committed to be a regular blogger and to keep pursuing it. I will try my best to publish one blog-post at least every month.
